Horto-botanico de N’dalatando Click to open side panel for more information , also widely known as the Kilombo Botanical Center (and historically as the Jardim Botânico do Cazengo), is a lush, hidden sanctuary located just five kilometers from the city of Ndalatando in Cuanza Norte province. Originally established during the colonial era, this historical research center has evolved into a dense forest haven that serves as a vital hub for the study, crossing, and preservation of rare plant species and agricultural crops. The absolute highlight of the garden is its spectacular collection of vibrant pink porcelain roses, which blanket several hectares of the grounds and fill the fresh highland air with a wonderful aroma. Winding through the park is the tranquil Muembeje River, which feeds a series of rushing rapids and features the historic Chinese Bridge, one of the oldest architectural relics in the province. It is an incredible, off-the-beaten-path destination for ecotourists, nature hikers, and travelers looking to experience a quiet, emerald-green paradise tucked away in the Angolan mountains.
